Simple setup

Install once. Print from your web POS anytime.

Follow these steps on the same computer where your thermal printer is connected.

1. Download the installer

Click the download button and save the RestoTap Local Printer Service file to your computer.

2. Install the service

Go to your Downloads folder, open the downloaded file, and complete the installation process.

3. Configure your printer

Open Command Prompt or PowerShell and run the setup command to select your receipt printer.

Run the setup command.

After installation, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and run: localprint setup

  • Make sure the thermal printer is connected to this computer.
  • Confirm the printer driver is already installed in Windows.
  • Select the correct printer number when prompted.
  • The service will save your printer and print a test receipt.

What happens next?

Your POS can now print receipts locally.

Once the setup is complete, RestoTap POS can send receipts, order tickets, and other print jobs to the selected local thermal printer.

Do I need to keep the browser open?

The printer service runs locally after installation, allowing your web POS to communicate with the selected printer.

Can I change the printer later?

Yes. Run localprint setup again in Command Prompt or PowerShell and select a different printer number.

Which printer should I select?

Select the thermal receipt printer connected to your POS computer, such as your 80mm receipt printer.

What if the test receipt does not print?

Check that the printer is powered on, connected, loaded with paper, and installed correctly in Windows Printers & Scanners.
